David is a seasoned civil engineer and the Technical Manager at Volker Ground Engineering, a specialist contractor in the supply, design, and installation of sheet piling and ground engineering solutions. In his role, David manages the technical aspects of tender and contract works, ensuring the delivery of high-quality engineering solutions. He represents the UK on the CEN Committee for EN 1993-5 and serves on the British Standards Institution (BSI) Committees for BS EN 1993 (CB/203) and BS 6349 (CB/502), contributing to the development and updating of key guidance documents in the steel piling sector. David is also the Chair of the Steel Piling Group (SPG), the UK's leading industry body for steel piling. The SPG provides technical guidance, promotes best practices, and supports innovation in the use of steel piling across construction and infrastructure projects. Under David's leadership, the group has played a key role in updating industry standards and ensuring that steel piling remains a sustainable and cost-effective solution for ground engineering challenges.
